If you have never tried a Hot Buttered Rum Drink then it probably sounds really strange. But trust, it is one of those decadent drinks that will warm you up on the coldest winter night.

HOT BUTTERED RUM
Equipment
Ingredients
- ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ⅛ tsp Cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp Ground cloves
- ⅛ tsp Nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
- ½ tsp Vanilla
- 1 cup water or apple cider
- 3 ounces rum
- Whipped cream for topping
- Extra cinnamon or nutmeg for topping.
Instructions
- In a heat safe bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and spices.
- In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water or apple cider to a boil.
- Pour liquid over the butter and spices. Stir to combine and dissolve brown sugar.
- Add rum, stir.
- Pour into two mugs.
- Top with whipped cream and, optionally, a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
