Crab Cocktail Recipe
This Crab Cocktail Recipe is a simple dish that allows the fresh crab to shine. Crab Meat Cocktail is similar to shrimp cocktail but with lump crab meat instead.

Crab Meat Cocktail
First and foremost, this is not the mayo based crab recipe that is served on a bread roll. That is Crab Salad and I actually have a great recipe for that right here -> Crab Salad Recipe
I just wanted to clear that up because there seems to be some confusion on the internet between the two recipes. Crab Cocktail is much like shrimp cocktail but with crab instead of shrimp. Living here on the Oregon Coast, when you order crab meat cocktail you will be served fresh lump crab meat topped with spicy cocktail sauce along with some lemon wedges. That’s it.
This version has a bit of celery just to add crunch, but feel free to omit that if preferred. I add extra horseradish to my cocktail sauce for extra spiciness. Here is a recipe if needed -> Homemade Cocktail Sauce

- Fresh Cooked Lump Crab Meat
- Cocktail Sauce
- Celery
- Salt
- Old Bay Seasoning
- Chives
- Lemons
- Lettuce/Greens

CRAB COCKTAIL RECIPE
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Fresh Cooked Lump Crab Meat
- 1/2 Cup Cocktail Sauce*
- 1 Celery Rib - sliced thin
- Pinch Salt
- Old Bay Seasoning
- Chopped Chives
- Lemon Wedges
- Lettuce/Greens
Instructions
- Gently combine crab meat and celery.
- Arrange lettuce/greens in serving dishes. Spoon crab meat onto lettuce.
- Sprinkle with salt, Old Bay and chives.
- Spoon cocktail sauce on top.
- Serve cold with lemon wegdes.
