Shrimp Cocktail Sauce

Once you realize how simple it is to make cocktail sauce at home you’ll never buy the store bought variety again. Not only is it quick, easy and inexpensive to make. . . it tastes so much better too!

You are able to customize your seafood sauce to your tastes. I like extra horseradish in my cocktail sauce so I add even more than this recipe calls for. Or for a mild sauce just decrease the amount of horseradish and hot sauce.

You can even make this a Keto-friendly low carb cocktail sauce by using a no-sugar ketchup.

What Is Shrimp Sauce Made Of

The basic base ingredients are ketchup, horseradish, lemon and Worcestershire sauce. You can customize by adding in fresh chopped parsley, hot sauce (Tabasco), Old Bay Seasoning, lemon zest or anything else you might enjoy. Cajun seasoning turns this into a fantastic Cajun Cocktail Sauce.

What Do You Use Cocktail Sauce For

Shrimp (or prawns depending where you’re from) is the most common seafood to serve cocktail sauce with. I have also seen it served alongside fish, crab and oysters.
