Homemade Flour Tortilla Chips From Scratch

Homemade tortilla chips are one of those things that you don’t think of making and then once you finally do it becomes an obsession. Tortilla chips are super easy to make and taste unbelievably good!

If you ask me, the best part of going to a Mexican restaurant is the chips and salsa. So I’m not sure why it took me so long to start making my own tortilla chips from scratch. Also, these chips are baked making them healthier than the store bought or fried variety.

  • 8 Flour Tortillas – cut into triangles
  • Oil
  • Salt

How To Make Homemade Tortilla Chips

  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF
  2. Place tortilla triangles into large bowl. Drizzle oil over tortillas, toss to coat. Add more oil if needed, tortilla triangles should be generously coated with oil.
  3. Transfer tortilla chips to greased rimmed baking sheet. Arrange in an even layer.
  4. Bake for 4-6 minutes, keep a close eye and remove from oven once lightly golden brown. Let chips cool 1 minute then sprinkle with salt.
