These Easy Shrimp Tacos are great for a quick weeknight dinner or for a fun weekend meal. Just roast the shrimp in the oven, mix up the creamy sauce and dig in! This dinner recipe will cure those Mexican food cravings.

Healthy Shrimp Tacos

Shrimp Tacos are a super quick and easy meal. With a few fresh ingredients, roasted shrimp and tortillas . . this healthy recipe will add some excitement to your Taco Tuesday!

The great thing about making these tacos is how hands off it is. Just bake those shrimp and prep the toppings while in the oven. Then all you need to do is assemble your tasty tacos.

If you are following a low carb or Keto Diet you can use low carb tortillas. The rest of the ingredients are already naturally low carb.

Ingredients Needed For Shrimp + Cabbage Tacos (screenshot for grocery list)

  • Large Wild Shrimp
  • Olive Oil (or avocado oil)
  • Chili Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cumin
  • Onion Powder
  • Sea Salt
  • Ground Pepper
  • Flour Tortillas
  • Shredded Green Cabbage
  • Red or Orange Bell Pepper
  • Avocado
  • Cilantro
  • Sour Cream
  • Hot Sauce
  • Limes

How To Make Shrimp Tacos

Shrimp

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F
  2. Rinse and Drain thawed shrimp.
  3. Toss shrimp with oil and spices. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet.
  4. Bake 8-10 minutes (depending on size) or until shrimp are pink and in a loose ‘C’ shape

Tacos

  1. Grill tortillas in an oiled skillet or grill pan until light golden brown.
  2. Layer cabbage, peppers, shrimp, avocado and cilantro inside tortilla. Drizzle sauce over the top and serve.

Sauce

  1. Combine all sauce ingredients. Add enough lime juice to make the sauce drizzle-able.

Shrimp

  • 1 Lb Large Wild Shrimp, (thawed, peeled, deveined)
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Ground Pepper

Tacos

  • 4 Flour Tortillas
  • 2 Cups Shredded Green Cabbage
  • 1 Red or Orange Bell Pepper, (seeds removed, sliced thin)
  • 1 Avocado
  • Cilantro

Sauce

  • 8 ounces Sour Cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons Hot Sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoons Lime Juice

Instructions

    How is there 52 carbs per serving in this? Only thing with carbs is the tortillas!

      Oops, the serving size was set to 1 instead of 4 which inflated the nutritional amounts. Fixing it now 🙂

    Absolutely delicious! The shrimp cook time was spot on for perfect shrimp! The spices were just right! I added more lime in the sauce, and then lime on top of the shrimp taco before eating it (and for my kids I added corn to their tacos with the shrimp bc they love corn in any kind of taco). perfect dinner!

    I’ve made this recipe a few time and love it every time. I skip the baking the shrimp part and just cook them in a skillet and works just the same. Very good!
