Why Baked Brie Works So Well
Brie is naturally creamy and mild, making it the ideal canvas for bold flavors. Baking softens it to a silky, scoopable texture, while honey adds sweetness and garlic introduces a savory depth. A sprinkle of herbs or nuts can elevate the dish even further—think rosemary and walnuts or thyme and toasted pecans.

Tips for Best Results
- Keep the rind on — it holds the cheese together as it melts.
- Use good-quality honey for richer flavor.
- Add toppings after baking if using herbs that burn easily.
- Serve warm — baked Brie stiffens as it cools.
Serving Ideas
- Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with crushed walnuts.
- Add a spoonful of fig or apricot jam.
- Serve on a charcuterie board with grapes, almonds, and salami.
- Pair with white wine such as Chardonnay or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

No. The rind is edible and keeps the cheese from turning into a puddle in the oven. Once baked, it becomes soft and easy to cut into.
Absolutely, this becomes a classic Brie en Croûte. Wrap the Brie in puff pastry, seal the edges, brush with egg wash, and bake for about 25–30 minutes.
You can prepare it (garlic, honey, etc.) ahead of time, but bake it right before serving for the best texture.
Skip it! You can replace the garlic with fruit preserves, nuts, caramelized onions, or fresh herbs.
Press gently with a spoon or finger, it should feel soft and jiggle slightly. If it still feels firm, bake for another 2–3 minutes.

Baked Brie with Honey and Garlic
Ingredients
- 1 8oz wheel of Brie cheese
- 3-4 cloves of garlic thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh thyme sprigs optional
- Sliced baguette or crackers for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Place the Brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a Brie baker.
- Using a small knife, make small slits on the top of the Brie. Insert the garlic slices into the slits, distributing them evenly across the cheese.
- Drizzle the honey over the top of the Brie, allowing it to seep into the slits and around the cheese.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the Brie.
- Place thyme sprigs on top of the Brie.
- Transfer the baking sheet or Brie baker to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and gooey in the center. Keep an eye on the Brie as it bakes to ensure it doesn’t melt completely and lose its shape.
- Once baked, carefully remove the Brie from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the baked Brie with sliced baguette or crackers.
