CARAMELIZED LEEKS
CARAMELIZED LEEKS are a great topping for potatoes, sandwiches, pasta and burgers. Similar to using caramelized onions but with a more mild flavor.

Caramelized leeks are divine, they are sweet and rich, not overly crunchy or mushy, kind of similar in texture to if you had put raw green onions in mashed potatoes, but the flavor is a nice delicate onion flavor.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CARAMELIZE LEEKS?
We are cooking the leeks over medium heat to slowly caramelize them. This will take 15-25 minutes depending how browned you prefer your leeks.
I recommend using a small saute pan for the leeks, they may seem like there are too many but it will greatly reduce as they cook. Using a small pan will help protect them from burning once they have reduced in size.
