I just love Halloween and everything creepy that goes along with it. The cutesy Halloween recipes are great but at my house we prefer the horrifically gross Halloween recipes. This Severed Hand Appetizer is just that . . . super creepy and pretty realistic looking in a dim lit Halloween party.
It’s basically a cheese ball formed into a hand shape then covered with thinly sliced prosciutto to make it look extra grotesque. But – it is also super delicious and sure to be a party favorite!

Ingredient Options:
The Buddig Beef is purely optional – feel free to omit. Finely chopped jalapeños or black olives is a great alternative to the beef.
Recipe Tips:
- Using cold cream cheese makes the hand easier to shape and stay in form.
- Don’t worry if it isn’t perfect this hand is supposed to look slightly deformed and grotesque.
- For extra fright – serve on top of red pepper jelly spread.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
