Can You Use Frozen Broccoli For Beef and Broccoli
Yes, in a pinch you can use frozen broccoli. Instead of cooking it after the ground beef, thaw the broccoli in the microwave then remove as much liquid as possible. Add broccoli to all other prepared ingredients and cook 2-3 minutes before topping with cheese.
Fresh is best as far as flavor and texture. But frozen will work if that’s what you have on hand.

How To Make Cheesy Ground Beef and Broccoli
- In large 5 qt pot, season ground beef with salt and pepper then brown. Drain and set aside.
- Increase heat to medium/high. Add oil to pan.

Yes! Frozen broccoli works great. No need to thaw—just add it directly to the pan and steam a few extra minutes.
Colby/Jack is classic, but mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or Cheddar also melt beautifully.
Ground turkey, chicken, or pork are great alternatives if you want a lighter version.

Just made this, and not impressed. It needs something! Maybe onion?
I just made this too. I added corn and spinach, it sounds weird but it’s all I had. I only had 10 oz of broccoli so I felt the need to add something. I also added onion powder and a little bit of ground cumin. I put it in a low carb tortilla with a little pico de gallo … So good. I figure this is just a base recipe, you can add what you like to make it better for you
I added bacon, because let’s face it, everything is better with bacon
These pop-up ads are absolutely ridiculous. Honestly not even trying the recipe for that reason
Too dry and flavor was off. Won’t make this again. 🙁
Love this. easy, quick. I added garlic powder and onion powder and a little more red chili flakes:)
