Cooking Corned Beef In A Slow Cooker
The Crockpot is the best way to cook your corned beef and cabbage. Corned beef brisket can get rubbery if cooked to high. The low constant heat of a slow cooker will get you that falling apart, amazingly tender corned beef. It does take some planning and time. If you are low on time I got you covered with this Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Corned Beef Recipe. But if you have the time, make your corned beef in the slow cooker.
How To Make Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage with Red Potatoes, Onion and Carrots
- Place onions, corned beef, season packet ingredients, carrots, potatoes, beer and water in slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 9 hours.
- Add the cabbage and cook on high for 1-1.5 hours.
Can You Overcook Corned Beef
Yes, you can over cook anything really. But it would take a long time to overcook corned beef in the crockpot. Corned beef can easily cook on low for 10-12 hours without issues. If you cook it longer it will eventually begin to disintegrate.
Ingredients Needed For Slow Cooker Corned Beef Brisket

What cut of corned beef is best for the crockpot?
Flat cut: leaner, slices nicely (most popular)
Point cut: fattier, more flavorful, shreds easier
Both work great in a slow cooker.

This is a full meal all combined. But, how do you use up that leftover corned beef? You can make these with the leftovers:
Reuban Stuffed Baked Taquitos, Corned Beef and Cabbage Soup, Hot Reuban Dip or Baked Reuben Sliders.

I often use white grape juice when recipes call for beer. I’m about to try it tonight. I’ll post how it turns out.

Apple Cider Vinegar
I think it’s apple cider vinegar.
What do you mean by “spice packet”? What is that?
I would just use chicken stock
I’m cooking it on high, with beef broth and not beer! How much time would you say I need to let it cook?
Apple Cider Vinegar.
Use a German beer like a Pilsner. It will give you a rich flavor!
