This holiday cheese ball is a great because it will be a show-stopper but it is so simple to prepare. Make a basic cheese ball, form it into a tree shape then cover with herbs, nuts, olives and pomegranate arils. That’s it.

Ingredient Options:

  • Use your preferred nuts – almonds, pecans, pistachios, peanuts, macadamia nuts, etc.
  • Instead of the olive on top – cut a star shape out of sliced cheese then attach to top with a toothpick.
  • Dried cranberries will work in place of the pomegranate.

Ingredients

  • 3 packages 8 ounces each cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups white shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup fresh parsley finely chopped, divided
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary finely chopped, divided
  • ¼ cup sliced pecans and salted peanuts
  • 3 tablespoons green olives optional garnish
  • 3 tablespoons pomegranate arils

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, ¼ cup parsley, and 1 tablespoon rosemary. Mix until smooth.
  • Scrape the cheese mixture into the center of a serving platter or cake stand. Shape it into a tree-like cone.
  • Decorate the tree with remaining chopped parsley, rosemary, pecans, peanuts, green olives, and pomegranate arils.
  • Serve immediately with crackers or store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

This cheese ball Christmas tree can be made up to 2 days in advance. Wrap the tree in plastic wrap and store it in the fridge. Garnish the tree just before serving.
