INDIVIDUAL CHEESE BALLS

This has to be the absolute cutest way to serve mini cheeseballs. This cheeseball wreath is easy to prepare and display. It is sure to be an absolute show-stopper.

Plus, everyone gets to choose which flavor of cheeseball they want to eat. They can have ranch cheeseballs or zesty herb cheeseballs.

INGREDIENT OPTIONS:

  • Adjust seasoning and herbs to fit your tastes.
  • Dried cherries or apricots can be used instead or along with dried cranberries.
  • Walnuts can be substituted for the pecans or almonds.

TIPS & STORAGE:

  • Can be prepared a day ahead. Garnish just before serving to prevent herbs from wilting.
  • Store leftover cheeseballs in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Ingredients

  • RANCH CHEESE BALL FILLING:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ZESTY HERB CHEESE BALL FILLING:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce optional
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup finely chopped chives
  • 1 cups shredded white sharp cheddar cheese
  • CHEESE BALL TOPPINGS:
  • 1 Cup Chopped dried cranberries
  • 1 Cup Chopped pecans or almonds
  • 1/2 Cup Sliced green onions or chives
  • 1/2 Cup Finely chopped parsley
  • GARNISH:
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Fresh thyme sprigs
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Fresh parsley leaves

Instructions

  • RANCH CHEESEBALLS:
    Blend together the cream cheese, ranch season and mayo until smooth and creamy.
    Stir in the shredded cheese. Set aside.

    HERB CHEESE BALLS:
    Blend together the cream cheese, mayo, lemon juice and worcestershire until smooth and creamy.
    Stir in the seasonings until well combined.
    Stir in the shredded cheese.

    CHEESE BALL PREP:
    Use a cookie scoop, form balls out of the cheese ball mixtures and place onto a serving tray or cookie sheet.
    Refrigerate cheeseballs for 1-2 hours, or until firm.
    Roll the refrigerated cheese balls into the chopped cranberries, chopped pecans, green onions and parsley.
  • WREATH:
    Form a ring with half of the cheeseballs on a serving tray or circular cutting board to create a wreath. Add a second layer on top of the ring of cheeseballs.
    Use the fresh herbs to garnish around the edges of the cheese ball wreath.
    Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
