This is one of those super simple recipes that will get attention at the table. Bright, colorful and patriotic.

Fresh strawberries, blueberries and apples – the apples are in the shape of stars which make this fruit salad memorable.

This recipe doesn’t include a dressing, but if you prefer that you can mix the juice of half a lemon with 1-2 tablespoons honey for a simple dressing. Or, this fruit salad is great served with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Pink Lady apple sliced and cut into star shapes
  • 1 lbs strawberries quartered
  • 1 lbs blueberries
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberries: Begin by rinsing your strawberries. Quarter them and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Wash the blueberries and add them to the bowl with the strawberries. Gently toss to mix.
  • Create Apple Stars: Wash the Pink Lady apple. Using a small star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out stars from the apple slices. Toss apple stars with lemon juice.
  • Add the star-shaped apple pieces to bowl with berries. Toss everything gently to mix without crushing the fruits.
  • Chill and Serve: Chill the fruit salad until ready to serve. Serve with whipped cream.
