I scooped into this aromatic dip with Lay’s potato chips.  Roasted garlic, chicken, cheese and salty potato chips.  What more could you need?

Maybe the chance at 1 million dollars!?!?!

The Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest has returned to the U.S. with a $1 million grand prize for the best potato chip flavor idea.  This year the Lay’s brand is asking fans to also include the location (city/state) that inspired each potential million-dollar idea.  Later this year, four delicious finalist flavors – representing flavorful cities and towns across the U.S. – will be fully developed, brought to store shelves and voted on by America.

Now through March 30, 2015, you can visit http://clvr.li/layscontest to see official contest rules and submit ideas for the next great potato chip flavor.  Or enter via Twitter (follow @Lays for details), through the Lay’s Facebook Page or by using their cell phone to text FLAVOR to CHIPS (24477). *See Details Below*

My regional flavor submission was going to be Roasted Garlic because I live in garlic country.  Anyone ever been to the Gilroy Garlic Festival?  If not, you are missing out on your chance to try garlic ice cream!

Well, as it happens, the Lay’s brand already has a roasted garlic flavored chip.  How could I have missed that?

So, change of plans.  My flavor idea is Garlic Stuffed Green Olive.

Here is a peek at my flavor submission. . .

Every time I drive through Corning, I stop by The Olive Pit to buy jars of fresh local olives.  My favorite is the garlic stuffed olives.

Here is a photo I posted on Instagram the last time I stopped by The Olive Pit:

I think a salty, briny, garlicky chip would be amazing!

What is your creative chip idea?

I am sooooo making this for Super Bowl 2016!!! I have two questions though: one, I won’t actually be able to roast the garlic-sad I know 🙁 but would sautéed minced garlic work instead??? And second, since the recipe calls for everything to be mixed in at once, would making this in a crockpot be ideal??? Please let me know!!!!

    • Nicole Harris says:

If you decide to saute the garlic, do it on a low setting. You do not want to burn it. I haven’t tried it in a crockpot so I can’t say for sure. But I think it should work okay. I’m getting the feeling your oven broke. I like that you are making it work with the stovetop and crockpot! 😀
