This 5 Ingredient Breakfast Rice Recipe is a dish from my childhood. Not only is it quick and easy but a 3rd grader can make it. . . I did. Sweet white rice swimming in milk and butter with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Top this comforting breakfast bowl with you favorite fruit, nuts or yogurt.

Did you ever have one of those amazing summers during your childhood that was just filled with carefree fun, friends, dirt and play? Mine was after my third grade school year. I was a bit of a tomboy and that summer I lived next to four brothers, Brandon, Justin, Cliffton and Austin. We played barefoot from sun up to sun down and returned home coated in dirt, battle wounds and sticky goo from dripping popsicles.

It was the best!

What does this all have to do with breakfast rice? Well, those brothers taught me how to make this dish. In fact, this was the first recipe I ever made unsupervised. Brandon was the oldest so he was in charge of making the minute rice. All of us other kids fought over who would get to add the copious amounts of butter and sugar. This recipe is a more grown up version of my childhood breakfast rice. Honestly, ours was mostly sugar . . . lots and lots of sugar. Hey, I was an 80’s kid. There was no organic, gluten-free, healthy superfoods. Just sugar, sugar and more sugar!…oh, and some butter!

This breakfast rice is great because it is quick and easy to make. Eat it plain or top it with your favorite fruit, nuts, sweetener or yogurt. I added sliced bananas and Stonyfield Organic 100% Grass-fed Vanilla Yogurt.

Stonyfield has an exciting announcement, they are now B Corp Certified. Basically that means the they are on a mission to create food that is good for us, our kids and the environment. So maybe all kids can have that perfect summer playing outside and enjoying nature. Learn more about Stonyfield B Corp Certification here >> https://www.stonyfield.com/bcorp
