What Is Mississippi Pot Roast
Mississippi Pot Roast is a super simple slow cooker recipe that requires only a few ingredients: beef chuck roast, dry ranch mix, butter and pepperoncinis.
This version is a little different than the traditional Mississippi Pot Roast. The original includes a packet of dry au jus mix. I don’t like dry au jus mix, I think it tastes funny. And, the roast itself will be releasing loads of juicy meaty flavor. So I totally omit that ingredient. Feel free to add it if you prefer or if you are wanting to make the traditional recipe.
Also, I add a little garlic and onion powder just to get a some extra flavor in there. You can add it or omit it, that’s up to you.
What Kind Of Meat To Use For Slow Cooker Pot Roast
We are using a boneless beef chuck pot roast. This is a fatty cut that does well with long, slow cooking. The fat keeps it tender and the end result is falling apart, fork-tender roast.
Is Mississippi Pot Roast Keto – Low Carb
Yes. This recipe just so happens to be low carb and Keto friendly.
If following a low carb diet serve this on top of Mashed Cauliflower or alongside a low carb veggie.
