Cilantro Lime Coleslaw Recipe

This is a super flavorful coleslaw that is not made with mayonnaise. I like mayo slaw just fine but sometimes you need a lighter, fresher coleslaw. This Cilantro Lime Coleslaw is fantastic on tacos and it is great for bbq’s or potlucks because you don’t have to worry about the mayo going bad.

Is Coleslaw Good For Health

The mayonnaise based coleslaws can be high in fat and calories due to the mayo. But this slaw recipe is absolutely healthy! Cabbage is low in calories and high in vitamins.

  1. How long does this stay crisp for? I am considering making this a day or two ahead for meal prep.

    1. Honestly it doesn’t stay super crisp. The cabbage begins to break down after the first day so you’ll want to make it before you need it if you want it to be crisp 🙂

    1. You can order it online or use avocado oil if that is more available to you.

  2. Hi – to add on to Andrea’s question: even if the oil mixture is not added day before, cabbage will still not be as crisp? Thanks!

  3. My husband and I just loaded our carnitas tacos with this slaw and it was FANTASTIC! Thank you so much!

  4. Such a great recipe! Thanks so much. I devoured a whole bowl (about 1/3 of a head of cabbage). The DH even commented, and he and veg are barely acquaintances.

  5. Sounds great. Can you be more precise about measures of all the ingredients? Thank your much!
