Ingredients Needed For Easy Pasta Sauce (screenshot for grocery list)
- Ground Beef
- Sweet Onion
- Garlic
- Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes
- Dried Italian Seasoning
- Smoked Paprika
- Fresh Baby Spinach
How To Make Quick Meat Sauce
- Brown ground beef in sauce pot. Drain oil if needed.
- Add onion and garlic. Sauté 5 minutes over medium/high heat.
- Add Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Stir to coat meat.
- Add tomatoes and water. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add spinach and simmer for 5 more minutes or until spinach is wilted.
- Salt and pepper to taste. Add a small pinch of sugar to balance sauce, if desired. Add a pinch of crushed red pepper for some heat.
- Serve with cooked spaghetti and parmesan cheese.
How Long Should Spaghetti Sauce Simmer
This is a quick 30 minute sauce so we are simmering for about 15 minutes. If you happen to have extra time the sauce will only get better with additional cook time. Simmer for 1-2 hours for a deeper flavor. If simmering longer add more water or tomato sauce as needed.
