I keep blood oranges on hand whenever they are available. The bright color and mild flavor is perfect for using in recipes. And my creepy daughter is reallllly into vampires. So the idea of a bloody orange is right on her level.
Blood Oranges are great in dressings and vinaigrettes. The flavor isn’t too acidic. And the color will make any dish absolutely gorgeous!
Use this Blood Orange Vinaigrette to add a little zip to a plain salad. Or . . . make the ultimate sald!

Blood Orange Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- Juice of 1 Blood Orange, about 1/4 cup
- Zest of 1 Blood Orange
- 1/4 Cup Avocado Oil, or olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Fresh Cracked Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
- 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients. Shake or stir and serve.
