Gingerbread Spice Recipe
It is super quick and easy to mix up your own Homemade Gingerbread Spice Mix. With just cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg you can make a mini batch for personal baking or a large batch to give as gifts.
I can get a little obsessed with Gingerbread during the holiday season. Gingerbread and eggnog are my favorite holiday flavors. I use this mix to make my gingerbread creations.

If you bake at all, these spices are probably already hanging out in your cupboard. All you need is ground Ginger, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Clove. The best part about making your own spice blends is that you can personalize them to your tastes.
I LOVE CINNAMON . . . so I added extra! Feel free to adjust these spice measurements to fit your tastes.

What would I use the gingerbread spice in? Cookies? Hot Chocolate? I am curious. I have tried to make gingerbread cookies from scratch, but the recipes always have weird ingredients.

I am about to post a gingerbread hot cocoa mix recipe. I also use it in my oatmeal and cereal. I mix it in with my coffee grounds to add flavor. It would make a great milkshake with vanilla ice cream. Pancakes, muffins, frosting, yogurt parfaits … just to name a few ideas 😀

I will try it in one of those suggestions today. Thanks!

I love gingerbread! This sounds wonderful. How much would you use of this mix in the hot cocoa recipe? 2-1/2 Tblsp?
Nicole Harris says
Hi Pamela! Yes, 2-3 Tablespoons sounds about right for a large batch of cocoa mix. Depending on how much gingerbread flavor you prefer 🙂
