Try a unique twist on your favorite barbecue side dish. Instead of plain coleslaw make this Sweet and Savory Cabbage Apple Slaw! Red and green cabbage, carrots, apples, golden raisins tossed with a tangy apple vinegar dressing.
I am proud to be partnering with Musselman’s to bring you this tasty recipe!
I love recipes with opposite flavors like Salty & Sweet, Sweet & Spicy and Savory & Sweet. Or, maybe I just like Sweet! So it is no surprise that I make my coleslaw with a flavor twist. This Sweet and Savory Cabbage Apple Slaw has your typical beginning of coleslaw but with a sweet tangy dressing, crisp apples and juicy raisins. It should definitely make it’s way to your family bbq this summer!
The dressing is just 2 simple ingredients (not including salt and pepper, of course). Musselman’s Apple Butter (aka: my favorite secret ingredient) and apple cider vinegar. Did I mention I love the Sweet & Tangy flavor combo too!?!?

When it comes to coleslaw are you team vinegar or team mayo? I love a tangy vinegar slaw personally. As with any vinegar based coleslaw this will be crisp at first then begin to break down and wilt after a couple hours. I like my slaw either way but if you have a preference for crisp slaw be sure to prepare this right before serving.
Try this recipe for a fun new twist on a family favorite!
