Two of my favorite guilty pleasures come together as one perfect treat: Baked Nutella Donuts! This baked donut recipe is quick and easy. No frying. No fuss.
So, apparently February 5th was World Nutella Day. I’m not one that pays much attention to days dedicated to random foods. But, after an endless stream of Nutella treats on my Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter newsfeeds I was craving hard! I went searching for something that involved Nutella for my daughter and I to make. That is when I stumbled upon a recipe for Baked Nutella Doughnuts at Crazy Adventures In Parenting. I tried the donut recipe and loved it!
These donuts are baked so it does require a donut pan. They come out soft and cake textured. The glaze is beyond amazing . . . Nutella Heaven! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I did decrease the recipe by half and that made six donuts and a little extra which I used to make 12 mini cupcakes. I also added a little more water in my glaze. And I added extra Nutella wherever I could! Just look how gorgeous they turn out! Top with cutesy sprinkles for the ultimate Valentine’s Day breakfast. Or, if you’re like me, they make the perfect afternoon snack too.

When you used the mini muffin pan, how long did you cook them for? And, did you still use 325 degrees? Thanks! Marcie

I would check the mini muffins at 10 minutes. But, the cook time will probably be closer to 15 minutes. Enjoy!

When I made these they came out awful! They did not have the consistency of a donut at all and by the time they cooled they felt/tasted stale. Any suggestions?
Nicole Harris says
Oh no! It sounds like the batter may have gotten a bit too dry or they may have cooked too long. Just be sure to not overfill the flour measurment and level it off. Because this is a small batch any extra flour could make the donuts dry and stale tasting. Also, every oven temp can vary, maybe try a little less baking time. 🙂

These are yummy. Just a few issues. The recipe easily makes more than 6. I got 10, over filled my pans a little so they could have made 12. You need to double the glaze recipe to cover that many donuts. They taste delicious though!

We made these in honor of National Nutella Day (February 5th) and my kids LOVED them!! They were so easy to make and took no time at all!! The donuts came out light and fluffy and slipped right out of the pan.
I do will say that the recipe measurements are off. I used a standard donut pan and filled them 2/3-3/4 full and was able to get almost 12 donuts. This also means that there wasn’t enough icing. I watched them pretty closely based on previous reviews and they really only need 12 minutes.

Is it supposed to be 4 tsp of melted butter or 4 tbsp?
