I always thought that biscuits had to be made with butter, shortening, milk or buttermilk. Lately I have been playing around with the ingredients and have been surprised by the outcome.
I was especially shocked at how amazing this Dairy Free Biscuit Recipe turned out! Not only are these biscuits a great alternative to traditional buttermilk biscuits. I completely forgot that they are dairy free while eating them.

Mix the ingredients together until you get a thick batter.
Gently knead the dough on a floured surface until it comes together. Flatten or roll out to 3/4 inch thick. Then use a cutter or cup to cut out the 3″ diameter circles.
Transfer to a baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick. Bake.
The only obvious difference between these biscuits and traditional buttery biscuits is that they do not get golden brown. The color may be slightly different but the flavor is all there!

- 2 Cups Self-Rising Flour
- 3/4 Cup Silk Unsweetened CoconutMilk
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Mix ingredients together until thick batter forms.
- Gently knead dough on a lightly floured surface until it comes together. Flatten or roll out until approximately 3/4 inch thick.
- Use cutter or cup to cut out the 3″ diameter circles.
- Transfer biscuits to baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick.
- Bake for 15-17 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy!
