Oven Baked Figs
Recently I posted a recipe for Honey Ricotta Ice Cream. While the ice cream is perfection on it’s own (in my humble opinion), I wanted to see how far I could take the deliciousness. And what is more delicious than figs?
It is certainly not a secret that I Love Figs! I mean really, it is more of an obsession.
These Honey Roasted Figs are almost too good . . . they should be illegal. Honey and figs are a perfect match and roasting the figs creates an almost caramelly quality. In fact, roasting any fruit not only changes the texture but the flavor as well. I have been roasting all kinds of fruit this season and have yet to find one that doesn’t taste Crazy Good! Peaches, Bananas, Pineapple, Strawberries, Grapes, Grapefruit and Figs . . . Roast Them All!!!
Roasting figs is super easy to do. Just trim off the tops and bottoms then slice the figs in half. Smear with butter, drizzle with honey and pop them in the oven.
Then comes the hardest part, waiting for the sweet caramelly deliciousness!

Those figs look delicious!! We recently has roasted figs stuffed with a crisp bacon at a Tapas restaurant. That was good. I also like your idea of serving the figs over ice cream.

What about a fig and bacon ice cream, Carol? Now really, Nicole, wouldn’t you like for someone to say they made your recipe and it was amazing? I think it would be really great if people could rate your recipe with stars + comments. I hope this criticism is helpful.
