STRAWBERRY FLOAT RECIPE

This FRESH STRAWBERRY FLOAT RECIPE is the perfect summertime drink. Fresh strawberry puree, lemon lime soda and vanilla ice cream make a refreshing dessert drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint strawberries washed and hulled
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • cup water
  • 1 ½ cups vanilla ice cream
  • 16 ounces lemon-lime soda such as 7-up or Sprite
  • Whipped cream and fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice your strawberries and set aside.
  • Add sugar and water into a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves in the water to create a simple sugar syrup.
  • Add the strawberries and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Pour the strawberry syrup mixture into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.Optional* You can strain your strawberry puree over a fine mesh strainer to remove small pieces.
  • Allow the strawberry mixture to fully cool before using.
  • To assemble your floats, divide the strawberry syrup between both glasses. Pour the lemon-lime soda into your glasses.
  • Divide the ice cream between both glasses. Top with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry.
