Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

These Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes have the great flavors of a cheesesteak in a quick, easy weeknight dinner. Sloppy Joes filled with peppers, onion and melty cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper - chopped
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper - chopped
  • 1 Orange Bell Pepper - chopped
  • 1 White Onion - chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Oil
  • 2 Lbs Ground Beef
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 2 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella or Provolone Cheese
  • 4 Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  • In large pan sauté peppers and onions in oil over medium/high heat until tender. Remove from pan, set aside.
  • Brown ground beef, season with salt and pepper. Drain if needed.
  • Return beef, peppers and onion to pan. Add cream cheese, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, water, salt and pepper. Stir and heat over medium until thick and bubbling.
  • Turn off heat then sprinkle cheese over the top. Stir melty cheese into mixture. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve sloppy joe mixture on toasted hamburger bun. Top with additional shredded cheese.

Notes

This recipe makes enough for 4 overstuffed sloppy joes or 6 small joes.
