BEER CHEESE SLOPPY JOE RECIPE

This Beer Cheese Sloppy Joe Recipe is a unique twist on a family favorite. A cross between a Sloppy Joe and a Loose Meat Sandwich, the meat is infused with Lager Beer then piled hight on a pretzel bun. The finishing touch is a generous topping of gooey Beer Cheese Sauce! Perfect for family dinner or game day grub.

Ingredients

  • 1 Small Yellow Onion - chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 1 Lb Ground Beef
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Lager Beer
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • Salt/Pepper - to taste
  • 4 Pretzel Buns
  • Beer Cheese Sauce*

Instructions

  • In cast iron or fry pan, sauté onion in oil over medium/high heat until light golden.
  • Add beef, brown and crumble. Drain oil if necessary then return to pan. Reduce heat to medium.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix beer and cornstarch. Pour mixture into meat. Stir.
  • Cook 2-3 minutes or until sauce has thickened and is no longer liquid. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spoon beef onto pretzel buns. Top with beer cheese sauce. Serve.

Notes

*If only making beer cheese sauce for these sloppy joes, make a half batch of cheese.
