Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Not only are you getting the health benefits of fruit and vegetables in every sip.  This smoothie tastes fantastic too!
Okay, now that we got the whole YAY for healthy smoothies out of the way.  This smoothie tastes like the color Green!  Not like the ugly swampy green color.  This tastes like a happy cheerful green.

Basically, if this is your first time trying a Green Smoothie Recipe, don’t expect it to taste like a milkshake.  It tastes healthy.  It tastes good . . . and healthy!

The grapefruit and kale flavors really compliment each other.  This green smoothie recipe has quite a bit of kale in it.  If you’re going to drink a kale smoothie . . . Go Big!

The grapefruit brings a refreshing quality, while the banana and pineapple add the sweetness.  I added a dollop of Greek yogurt for creaminess and a little protein.  Feel free to leave off the yogurt if you prefer.

I’m still sticking to my commitment to eat healthier! It’s been tough, but it needs to be done 🙂 I’ve still yet to make a green smoothie. I know… it’s crazy! This sounds great though… maybe I’ll finally try a green smoothie 🙂

Yumm that sounds awesome! A bonus of the grapefruit’s vitamin C means that you absorb the iron from the kale better. Whoo hoo =)

Is this doable without the banana? What would you suggest instead (to someone who does not like banana in smoothies?)

Hi Caroline! You can definitely leave off the banana. Give it a taste, it may need a little sweetener without the banana. Enjoy!

I’ve never tried green powder. I don’t drink smoothies for weight loss or at a specific time of day. I just like to drink smoothies 😀
