How To Make Bacon Wrapped Asparagus In The Oven
It is as simple as wrapping bundles of asparagus with bacon and baking to desired doneness. Two ingredients and about 20 minutes, it doesn’t get easier.
One thing to keep in mind is how done you like your bacon. I don not recommend using the very thin asparagus because it makes it difficult to crisp the bacon before the asparagus is overdone.
If you like bacon that is still a bit tender then use asparagus that is medium thickness.
For crisp bacon definitely buy the asparagus with thicker stalks. Thick asparagus takes longer to cook through and will allow more time for the bacon to crisp. This cooking time reflects medium stalk asparagus. So you will want to add additional cooking time when using thick stalk asparagus.
- Cut bacon in half, lengthwise.
- Wrap a bundle of 4-5 asparagus with each half strip of bacon then transfer to a greased, rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake at 425ºF for 20-25 minutes or until asparagus and bacon are to desired doneness (will depend on thickness of asparagus)
What Temperature To Cook Bacon Wrapped Asparagus In The Oven
Cook at 425ºF for 20-25 minutes to achieve tender asparagus and crisp bacon. Depending how you prefer your bacon and asparagus, give or take a few minutes.
Is Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Keto
Yes! Asparagus is one of the veggies you can enjoy on the Keto Diet. And bacon is definitely allowed. When looking for bacon be sure you are getting bacon that doesn’t have any added junk, like sugar.
If you are following strict Keto you still want to eat this in moderation because the asparagus has some carbs and while the bacon counts towards your fats, it also counts towards your proteins.
