The season of Treats is upon us! What better way to start than with a chocolaty, peanutty, crunchy, sweet, melt in your mouth Halloween Chocolate Bark!?!
The best part … this is Super Easy to make! In fact, this is so simple to make that I debated whether or not to post this recipe. Can melting chocolate and layering it with nuts and candy be considered a recipe?
I decided recipe or not … Who Cares? This is just plain deliciousness! All of my taste testers agreed and couldn’t get enough.
For the chocolaty portion you will need a 10 ounce package of you favorite chocolate (I use Nestle Dark Chocolate Morsels) and 1 tsp coconut oil.I melt the chocolate with the coconut oil on the stove top on medium/low heat, stirring often. Or you can melt your chocolate in the microwave. Just be sure to stop and stir every 30-60 seconds.
For the nutty/candy portion you will need 1/2 cup of roughly chopped peanuts, 4 Tb nonpareils and 1/2 cup of Reese’s Pieces.
While your chocolate is melting, line an 8×8 pan with lightly greased foil. Layer the peanuts evenly on the bottom of the pan. Once your chocolate is smooth and shiny, pour over the peanuts and then spread to the edges. Layer the top with the nonpareils and Reese’s Pieces then place in the refrigerator.
Once the chocolate has hardened remove the entire block of candy by lifting the foil out of the pan. Peel the foil off and place the candy on a cutting board.Use a knife with a sharp tip to poke into the chocolate. The chocolate should break apart with slight pressure. Keep inserting the knife tip until the pieces are the desired size. Store the Halloween Chocolate Bark in a cool area or in the refrigerator.
This is the perfect treat to bring to the office or a Halloween party.
