Homemade Rice Pudding
This Homemade Rice Pudding Recipe is a super simple way to make this amazing old fashioned dessert. Creamy sweet rice thickened and spiced with cinnamon.
Combine milk, rice, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a 5-quart pot.
Bring mixture to a boil over medium/high heat. Reduce heat to medium/low.
Cook (uncovered) until the pudding is thick and creamy, stirring frequently, about 30 to 35 minutes. Stir almost constantly during the last 5 to 10 minutes to prevent pudding from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Keep in mind, the pudding will thicken more as it cools.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
Serve hot or cold.
Notes
If the pudding thickens up too much, stir in more milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
