Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup jasmine rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  • Combine milk, rice, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a 5-quart pot.
  • Bring mixture to a boil over medium/high heat. Reduce heat to medium/low.
  • Cook (uncovered) until the pudding is thick and creamy, stirring frequently, about 30 to 35 minutes. Stir almost constantly during the last 5 to 10 minutes to prevent pudding from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Keep in mind, the pudding will thicken more as it cools.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
  • Serve hot or cold.

Notes

If the pudding thickens up too much, stir in more milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
