Easy Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 3 Garlic Cloves - grated
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Grated Ginger
  • 1 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Paste

Instructions

  • Heat oil over medium/high in small sauce pot. Add garlic and ginger, sauté 1-2 minutes.
  • Add soy sauce, sugar and vinegar. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
  • Add sesame oil, cornstarch/water mixture and chili paste.
  • Simmer 3-5 more minutes or until desired thickness. Sauce will thicken more once cooled.

Notes

Use more brown sugar if you prefer a sweeter sauce.
