Easy Apple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter - softened
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • Apple Pie Filling 21 ounce can
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon

Frosting

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter - softened
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese - softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste
  • Small Pinch Salt
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Whole milk

Instructions

Cake

  • Preheat oven to 325°F
  • Mix butter and sugar. Add apple pie filling, eggs, walnuts and vanilla. Mix.
  • Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix until just combined.
  • Transfer to a buttered 9x13 baking dish.
  • Bake for 47-48 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Let cool before frosting.

Frosting

  • Mix butter, cream cheese, vanilla bean paste and salt.
  • Gradually mix in powdered sugar. Then add milk.
  • Beat until light and fluffy. (2-3 minutes)
  • Spread frosting evenly over cooled cake.
  • Refrigerate cake until serving.
