16ounceslump crab meatI used Philip’s brand from Costco
2tablespoonsgreen onionsfinely chopped
Lemon wedges and tartar sauce for serving
Instructions
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the panko crumbs, egg and Worcestershire sauce, and let sit until the panko has absorbed the liquid.
Add mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon zest, mustard, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and cayenne pepper to mixture then stir until smooth.
Gently fold the crab and green onions into the mayonnaise mixture and mix until well combined.
Using a large 3-tablespoon cookie scoop, create 8 equal-sized rounded portions and gently flatten them into ½-inch thick patties. Chill for at least 1 hour.
Preheat the air fryer and spray the tops of the patties with a light misting of oil.
Place crab cakes in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 15 minutes at 370ºF, flip at the halfway mark.
Remove the crab cakes from the air fryer with a soft silicone flipper so as not to damage them and place them on a platter. Squeeze lemon over top and serve with tartar sauce.
Notes
If you prefer to pan fry your crab cakes, feel free to do so. Just heat oil in a skillet over medium/high heat then pan fry the crab cakes to golden brown on each side.
