Use these Basketball Party Ideas to cheer on your favorite team with friends and family! Simple table decorations and fun basketball themed dessert recipes will make this the ultimate Tournament Party!
When planning a party I like to keep it simple.
Easy and convenient snack foods. Self serve beverages. Recipes that can be made the day before. And effortless decor.
That way I can enjoy my own party!
For this Basketball Themed Party I headed to my local Target to pick up some crowd favorites. . . OREOS, REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups Minis and Coke Zero.
Along the way I found some super cute black and white striped Referee party items. I decided to go with an orange, black and white decor.
Check out the Nabisco 2015 Snack Bracket!
The OREOS are the MVP of the dessert tray!
I used them to make OREO Truffle Basketballs and OREOS-On-A-Stick.
The OREO Truffle Basketballs are ahhhhhMazing!
Puree 24 OREO Cookies (2 sleeves) with 4 ounces cream cheese. Roll into 15 truffle balls and transfer to tray or baking sheet. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until firm. Melt orange candy melts according to package instructions. Dip truffles into orange candy. Once cooled, use store bought gel frosting or melted dark chocolate to create the lines.
These REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup Brownies are a SLAM DUNK!
Make the brownies a day or two before the party. Use a box mix or make my Homemade Brownies, don’t forget to add a handful of REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup Minis. Let cool overnight. Then use a small biscuit cutter to make 9 brownie circles. Frost with store bought orange frosting or make Homemade Buttercream Frosting. Dip your knife in hot water and run across the top of frosting to create a smooth finish. Use store bought gel frosting or melted dark chocolate to create the lines.
There will be a REESE’S coupon on the Cartwheel App from 3/15 – 4/4. Download the app and look for the offer!
The OREOS On A Stick are beyond simple.
Open each cookie. Place a small lolipop stick inside and add a dollop of orange frosting on top. Gently but firmly press cookie back together. Spread orange frosting on one side of the cookies. Use store bought gel frosting or melted dark chocolate to create the lines.
Some of the other players are cheese balls (of course), individual creamy salsa dips with pretzels and clementine oranges with hand drawn basketball lines.
I like to portion the dip into individual cups to prevent any double dipping action. Double Dipping Is NEVER Okay! Major Foul!
Keep the dip stress-free, too. This Creamy Salsa Dip is made with 3 ingredients!
Mix 16 ounces softened cream cheese with 1 cup jarred salsa. Divide between 8-10 small plastic cups. Top with shredded cheese. Done.
Don’t leave your guests thirsty. Stock up on Coke Zero and bottles of water. Set table with drinks, ice, cups and straws. That way guests can help themselves.
Keep a black marker next to the cups so everyone can personalize their cups!
You Don’t Know Zero ‘Til You’ve Tried It. Coke Zero and Target will allow consumers to try a Coke Zero through “Drinkable” advertising which takes traditional advertising elements and makes them actually drinkable – leading to a free 20oz. Coke Zero at Target! Consumers can participate in these unbelievable experiences through a drinkable TV spot, jumbotron and even at CokeZero.com beginning April 2nd. Just come thirsty with your Shazam app ready!
Be sure to head to your local Target to stock up on these party favorites!
