Then you didn’t follow the directions correctly. I just made it and they came out perfect. I used 9” spring form pans and baked for 16 minutes.

I used an 8×2. It didn’t rise much so definitely no worries there.

I liked that the cake wasn’t too sweet, so the frosting was a nice contrast to it. I added extra buttermilk to the frosting before mixing again prior to frosting. That helped to soften it up a bit. I also only had salted butter and used that, and just omitted the additional salt. Thank you for the recipe!
