This Legen (wait for it) Berry Smoothie is bursting with flavor! It will energize you and give you a boost to start your day. But it tastes so great that you will forget that it is healthy.
I like to add some chia seeds on top. They are nature’s sprinkles!
I had already planned on posting this Berry Smoothie Recipe with the funny name inspired by Barney from the show How I Met Your Mother. I didn’t realize that the show finale was this week. I used to watch the show but I just don’t watch television anymore. I had to watch the last episode, of course.
If you have never watched the show, basically it is a comedy that follows the lives of a group of friends through their 20’s into their 30’s and 40’s. The ups, the downs, the funny, the sad. That sort of show.
It got me thinking. I’m in my mid thirties and if you rewind ten years back, I am a completely different person. No exaggeration.
Back then I would pack my overnight bag for a spontaneous trip to wherever. A last minute road trip, flight, boat trip or train ride. Heck, I even cruised the Greyhound on some out of state adventures. Nowadays I can’t even manage to find the time to call a friend and actually have an adult conversation.
Back then, I just had to decide if I wanted liquor, wine or beer. Now my life is grocery shopping, cleaning, kids and what the heck am I gonna make for dinner tonight!?!
Tell me I’m not alone.
Do you ever look in the mirror and say “Holy Sh*t! When did I get so old!?!”
I guess it happens eventually. Friends drift out of our lives. Kids grow up. Priorities change. Life gets busy. Responsibilities multiply. Those carefree moments fade into our distant memories.
Whoa! This Berry Smoothie post just got real dark.
This smoothie may not be legendary . . . but it is delicious!
So make a batch of smoothies. Sit down and enjoy them with your friends and family.
Because ten years from now you’ll be wishing you had appreciated these moments.
